The Undying that cast Discharge should probably NOT be able to spawn with "gain power charges on hit". Combined with heavy resistances and regenerating life, and all the rest of this bullsh*t, after 10 minutes of fighting this guy and failing to get him below half health I had to go and reroll the area to proceed.

You're just going to have to accept that you may have to skip certain rare combos.
Some of the "Regen Life" mobs that also had energy shield and massively damaging attacks (the fireball-spewing big curtain things in Solaris did this to me a few times) are ones I've had to lure into corners / deadends and skip.

Those bastards in Act3 sewers were my bane as well. I died to one of those flicker-striking/discharging mobs 3 times in a row--luckily I just leveled so did not care much.

I also do not agree with above statements that some randomly generated rares might be unkillable by some builds. That is a huge design and balance problem. Either the generation is broken and allows creation of too tough combos or the skill system is unbalanced.

I tell you this don't let them hit you, evasion?,coldsnap?,freeze mine as old as world counter to flicker mobs. Don't expect to kill everything with every build, for example ES,regenerates life,plus additional hp was hard to even dent with some of my builds on some monsters, but I found fun time with reflect mobs,they did nothing to me. As it was stated here pick fights, oh and getting resistances is pretty good idea anyway as well as enough life. What definition of too tough? this is not too tough, too tough are white trash in lunaris temple that was able to just kill parties on sight(with max resists and good life btw), this is just a joke. Maybe snakes in act 2 seem they do more chaos damage then every other mob in act 2-3 cruel and 2 shot my marauder in small packs of 5 (well my 1800 hp probably low for act 2, but they contrast too much over other mobs.)

Let's say you are clueless and make way too many assumptions. Stuff you suggested is either common sense or does not work on a monster that is naturally fast, blink around and can deal massive damage in an instant.

Not all enemies can be killed by every build.
This is most noticeable with bosses that resist the element you deal and have "regens life" and "allies regen life".
Just walk away from them, there are more enemies to kill out there.
